Richard III was the last king of the House of York and the Plantagenet dynasty; and also the last English king to be killed on the battlefield. His remains were found in a carpark in Leicester during excavations in September 2012.

This example was struck at the London mint and shows the iconic Boars Head mint mark on both sides, especially clear on the reverse.
