Crude, retrograde legends mean this coin will be a contemporary Viking imitation of Alfred’s two line type.

Small section of edge loss and a few minor perforations evident under magnification consistent with a heavy strike, coin is stable.

Peck marks to reverse (a result of the silver being tested during Saxon/Viking times)

A great piece of history with connections to Alfred the Great and the invading Vikings.
