Anglo Saxon Forgers Trial Piece. Made of lead, this interesting object appears to have been stamped with the obverse die for a series E sceat, possibly testing an official die but more likely to do with contemporary forgery.
An interesting piece worthy of further study.

A nice group of Iron Age coins have been uploaded today, including a comprehensive selection of Corieltavi silver & gold coinage.
Most have never been offered on the market before today, recovered by metal detectorists at various sites in the North of England.
